The terms that apply when you use Emrys MX, NavArch Designer or Power Designer, in plain language. Last updated October 2026.
These terms apply to Emrys MX, NavArch Designer and Power Designer (the “tools”), which are provided by EMRYS Systems Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales (company number 17398003), registered office 117 North Hill, Plymouth, PL4 8BY. By signing in to a tool, or by using it during a trial, you agree to them. If you use a tool for an organisation, you confirm you may accept these terms for it.
Access is by account. We review sign-ups before we switch a tool on, and we may decline or end access if we cannot verify who you are or if you are in a country or sector where we are not permitted to supply you.
Free trial: 14 days, full tool. Reports produced during a trial carry a trial watermark. Student: free for students and educators we have verified; for study and teaching only. Paid plans: for one named user each. Team and organisation licences: agreed with us in writing.
Keep your login private. You are responsible for what is done through your account, and one account must not be shared between people.
Paid plans are arranged with us directly and charged by invoice, payable within 14 days. This site does not take card payments. Prices are quoted to you before you commit, exclude VAT, and run for the period on the invoice. We will email you before a plan renews, and you can stop it at any time before the renewal date.
Fees are not refunded once a billing period has started, unless a tool has materially failed to work and we have been unable to put that right within a reasonable time.
On a paid plan, we give you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use the tool for your own business or professional work, including commercial projects. A trial or Student account is for evaluation, study and teaching.
You must not copy, resell, rent or sublicense a tool, extract its code or data, reverse engineer it, or use it to build a competing product. You must not run automated scripts against it, attempt to bypass limits, plans or watermarks, or interfere with the service or other users.
The designs, projects, files and reports you create with a tool belong to you. You give us permission to store and process them only to run the tool for you.
The tools, their code, models, parts libraries and documentation belong to EMRYS Systems Ltd and its licensors. Nothing in these terms transfers any of that to you.
The tools are engineering aids. They use calculation models, and each model has limits, which are stated on the Export tab of the tool. EMRYS Systems does not certify any design. Before a result is used to build something, to put equipment into service, to certify or sign off a design, or in any situation where people or property could be harmed, you, or a suitably qualified engineer you appoint, must check it by independent means.
You must use the tools lawfully. You are responsible for complying with UK export control, sanctions and other laws that apply to your use of the tools and to anything you design with them. We may refuse, suspend or end access where we believe a use would break those laws or where an account has been given false details.
We work to keep the tools available but they are provided on an “as available” basis. We may update, change or withdraw features, and we may take the service down for maintenance. If a change materially reduces what a paid plan includes, we will tell you in advance.
We may update these terms from time to time. We will show a notice on the site or email you about material changes, and continued use after that means you accept them.
You can stop using a tool at any time. We may suspend or end your access if you break these terms or do not pay an invoice when due, and we will tell you why where we can. If a trial or plan ends, you may lose the ability to edit your work; contact us and we will help you get your project files.
Nothing in these terms limits or excludes liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be limited. Subject to that, we are not liable for loss of profit, loss of business, loss of data or indirect or consequential loss, and our total liability to you for anything arising from your use of a tool is limited to the fees you paid for it in the 12 months before the claim.
These terms, and any dispute about them, are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction. How we handle your personal data is set out in our Privacy & Data page. Questions about these terms: info@emryssystems.com or the contact page.
