Emrys Forge

Plymouth Science Park's planned sovereign fabrication facility — and the seed of Emrys's manufacturing competency.

Manufacturing

Emrys Forge is planned as a fabrication and prototyping facility based at Plymouth Science Park, serving two purposes simultaneously: a commercial-revenue public-access space for engineers and makers across Plymouth, and the foundation of Emrys's own sovereign manufacturing capability for every product in the stack.

LocationPlymouth Science Park, Plymouth, UK — adjacent to HMNB Devonport, Babcock International, Princess Yachts, and Plymouth Marine Laboratory.
Capability3D printing (FDM, resin, SLS), laser cutting, CNC machining, electronics workbenches, and PCB prototyping. Planned SC-cleared R&D enclave for sensitive defence work.
Commercial modelPublic-access membership, machine time, and training revenue. Slightly below-market pricing to drive adoption and build the local engineering community.
Strategic roleEmrys Forge is not just a revenue stream — it is the manufacturing competency seed for every platform and infrastructure product in the Emrys portfolio. All internal Emrys prototyping and small-run production goes through Emrys Forge first.
FabLabs affiliationEmrys Forge may pursue voluntary affiliation with the Fab Labs Plymouth network and the wider global Fab Lab community — providing community, credibility, and shared resources. Emrys Forge operates under its own brand and is not a FabLab franchise. (Note: "FabLab" is a registered trademark of the MIT Center for Bits and Atoms.)
SC-cleared capabilityA physically-separated SC-cleared R&D and fabrication enclave is planned, enabling defence-sensitive work that no other Plymouth fabrication facility currently supports.
StatusYear 1–2. Premises secured at Plymouth Science Park following seed investment close. Initial equipment and fit-out from seed capital.
Why this matters for the stack

Every product Emrys builds — from X-Plex PCBs to SonaSphere hulls to PowerFi enclosures — ultimately needs to be manufactured in the UK, at cost, under security controls. Emrys Forge is where that capability begins. It starts as a commercial fabrication space. It becomes the sovereign UK manufacturing backbone of the Emrys technology stack.
