Emrys is building the sovereign UK technology stack for defence, marine, aerospace and scientific platforms — networking, power, sensing and the systems that run on them, designed, manufactured and operated entirely in the UK.
Emrys Systems Ltd, trading as Emrys, is a Plymouth-based deep technology company building across defence, marine, aerospace and scientific applications. Before approaching a single investor, the founding team had already built three working prototypes — a patented electrical-level network switch, a personal area radar system operational for six years, and a smart power supply — alongside six whitepapers covering the rest of the portfolio.
The team brings together electronics and communications engineering, naval architecture, and maritime electrical and mechanical design — three founders with genuinely non-overlapping expertise, an established connection to Princess Yachts, and a decade of direct experience inside UK defence procurement.
The portfolio is structured as one integrated stack: infrastructure products that every platform consumes, platform products built on top of them, and sovereign UK manufacturing underneath it all. Every Emrys platform is, in turn, a customer of Emrys infrastructure — there's no single foreign dependency anywhere in the chain.
Every Emrys platform is, in turn, a customer of Emrys infrastructure — the layers are designed to reinforce one another rather than stand alone.
X-Plex networking, PowerFi power, and the Emrys Sensor Suite for communications and sensing — the foundational systems every platform above is built on.
PAR mesh radar, SonaSphere, the HALE drone and Project Firkin — operational platforms that draw directly on Emrys infrastructure.
Emrys Forge and in-house PCB fabrication based in Plymouth, removing reliance on offshore manufacturing for critical components.
Capital discipline matters at seed stage. Every pound is focused on the three products with the shortest path to revenue — everything else on the roadmap is funded by grants and Series A.
